About this page

Cork Airport: live aircraft and runways

Cork Airport (ORK, EICK) is on high ground south of Cork city, 502 feet (153 m) above sea level. It has two runways: the main runway, 16/34, 2,133 metres long on true headings of 160° and 340°, and 07/25, 1,310 metres long on true headings of 063° and 243°. Runway numbers come from the magnetic heading in tens of degrees; the headings here are true headings, which is why they differ by a few degrees.

This page lists the aircraft Skylark's collector has seen within 30 nautical miles of the airport, nearest first, with altitude, distance, direction from the field and whether each one is climbing, descending or passing through. When at least two arriving or departing aircraft have been seen lined up with the same runway in the last twenty minutes, it says which runway appears to be in use. That is an inference from the traffic, not an announcement from air traffic control. If the collector has no recent picture of the area, the page says so rather than showing an empty sky. It refreshes every 15 seconds.

Shannon is 54 nautical miles to the north-north-west, beyond this page's 30 nm radius, and has a page of its own. For every aircraft over the island in motion, open the live map. Dublin has its own page with the runway wind at Dublin Airport live, and every airport Skylark covers is on the Irish airports page. Meeting a flight? The Cork Airport arrivals board shows when each flight lands and when to leave to collect someone, and Cork departures lists what is leaving.
