Contributing your receiver data

Skylark is operated by Donncha O’Toole in Ireland. Receiver signup is open; publication of a new station’s observations remains subject to review. Use the Support, audio or multilateration form in your private station dashboard for support, withdrawal or deletion requests. Browser verification is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile.

Your contribution

Contribute only direct ADS-B observations collected by a receiver you operate and are permitted to use for this purpose. Do not upload another website's feed, copied aircraft databases, third-party MLAT results, TIS-B or radio voice audio. An observation being technically receivable does not establish a right to publish it.

Permission and ownership

You keep any rights you hold in your contributions. By submitting them, you give Skylark a non-exclusive permission to validate, combine, temporarily store and display those observations, and to derive station and coverage statistics for Skylark's service, including commercial operation. This is not an exclusive arrangement. You may continue supplying other networks. No payment or subscription entitlement is promised by this pilot.

Control

You can pause contributions or replace the ingest key in your dashboard. Pausing immediately removes the station from new network read responses and rejects new ingestion until resumed. Data already delivered to browser or tracker caches can remain until its freshness limit expires, at most forty-five seconds for this network feed. Hiding your public listing removes the station marker and attribution card; approved aircraft observations can still be displayed. Public attribution is optional. Operator approval can be revoked for inaccurate, unauthorised or abusive submissions.

What is collected

The station record contains its chosen name, country, region, antenna coordinates, approval state and the consent version. Exact antenna coordinates are used for range checks and are not included in public station records. Opted-in public station locations use one-degree cells. Raw positions can still reveal approximate reception patterns, so this is not anonymity.

The forwarder sends a limited set of direct aircraft fields and their actual position age. It does not read your microphone or take control of your radio. Credentials are stored as hashes on the receiver service. The owner recovery key gives control of the station; keep it private.

Retention

In the pilot, latest aircraft observations are eligible for cleanup after ten minutes, replay receipts after one day, station hourly and range statistics after thirty days, and administrative audit records after ninety days. Public live positions must be no older than forty-five seconds. Public coverage cells describe the previous twenty-four hours. Station registration and consent records remain while the station is registered. Maintenance performs cleanup even when there is no new feed. Atlas keeps private daily database backups for seven days. Backups are not public and are not sent off this server. Support and programme requests are retained while your station exists, or until the request is resolved and removed by the operator.

No safety use

Data can be missing, delayed, misidentified or false. Screening and approval cannot prove that a report came from a radio. Do not use Skylark for navigation, air-traffic control, emergency response or any safety-critical purpose.

Audio and future programmes

This consent does not authorise voice recording, public ATC audio, transcription, training-data resale or third-party raw-data licensing. Those uses require separate terms, rights checks and operator approval. A future change does not silently expand this permission.
